The Mountain Center’s Counseling Services Program specializes in Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare, Adventure Based Therapy and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Regular Outpatient (ROP) programming. We support behavioral health and wellness needs for adolescents, young adults, and families.
Focus areas for the Mountain Center’s Counseling Services Program:
Outpatient drug and alcohol treatment for adolescents and young adults
Our outpatient program combines the evidenced-based model Seven Challenges Program for adolescent substance abuse with the Mountain Center’s Experiential Adventure and Community Based Resiliency Model. The duration of Outpatient Programming is approximately 30 weeks and meets multiple times per week for group therapy, once a week for individual therapy, and once monthly for a family adventure group.
Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare and Adventure Based Therapy for individuals, families, and groups
The Mountain Center’s Counseling Services Program offers Outdoor Behavioral Health and Adventure Based Therapy for individuals and families that prefer a nature/adventure based approach or seek an alternative approach to traditional therapy. These services are open to individuals and families who have Medicaid insurance (or are eligible) or willing to pay directly for services. These services often take place in wilderness and natural environments and utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities and the Mountain Center’s Experiential Adventure and Community Based Resiliency Model.
Outdoor Behavioral Health and Adventure Based Therapy for groups in treatment centers, shelters, and outpatient programs
If you are apart of a behavioral health agency and are interested in our clinical services, we can prescriptively design a therapeutic program that matches your client's clinical goals and needs.
All clinical services are conducted by New Mexico licensed mental health providers.
We accept Medicaid from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Presbyterian Healthcare Services, and Western Sky Health Insurance.
